編號為223的警察（金城武）失戀后患上失戀綜合癥，在與金發(fā)女殺手（林青霞）擦肩而過又離奇相遇并有了一晚溫情后，原本以為包括“愛情”在內(nèi)的所有東西都有保質(zhì)期的他意外地迎來心靈的短暫溫暖?？墒牵麄兊膼矍檫€是結(jié)束了。
快餐店新來的女招待阿菲（王菲）愛上了時常光顧快餐店的編號 為663的警察（梁朝偉），因拆了他的女友（周嘉玲）留在快餐店給他的“分手” 信，阿菲知曉了他的心情，偷拿到他的鑰匙趁他不在時常潛入他家，一邊夢游一邊悄悄地改變他的生活，終在被他撞見時令其感受到情感的回歸。然而，這才是他們愛情的開始。
